Great-grandson of the ‘Father of Tagalog Novel’ launches book

Filipino author Romeo Palustre Peña, a young writer and professor of language and literature from Catanauan, Quezon will launch today his first novel titled “Isang One Dalawang Zero” at the Polytechnic University in the Philippines Bulwagang Bonifacio in Sta. Mesa, Manila.

Renowned publishing house Visprint Inc. will publish Peña’s first novel, which is written in Filipino and will soon be translated into English.

Peña, currently one of the Executive Council members of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts’ National Committee on Language and Translation, is a great-grandson of Valeriano Hernandez Peña, known as the Father of Tagalog Novel in the Philippines.

Aside from the book launch in Manila, “Isang One Dalawang Zero” will also be launched at PUP Unisan in Quezon province on April 25.
