PALAWAN Gov. Jose Alvarez is urging the Office of the Ombudsman to reconsider his indictment for graft over the supposed questionable water supply contract between him and the Cagayan de Oro City Water District in 2005.

He filed a 13-page motion for reconsideration, asking Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales to quash the graft case against.

“No specific acts or any detail whatsoever were provided as to how herein respondent ‘conspired with public respondents by inducing or causing the board of directors to rule on the eligibility of RVW Consortium even before the bids and awards committee had the opportunity to rule on the issues’ and no evidence of whatever kind was cited to support such a sweeping conclusion,” his plea read.

Alvarez, who was then a representative of Rio Verde Water Consortium Inc., allegedly connived with of conspiring with COWD's board chairman Raymundo Java, vice chairman Sandy Bass Sr., general manager Gaspar Gonzales Jr. and the board members.
