Gabbi Garcia is living her best life right now. Following her self-produced single “All I Need” and starring alongside Ruru Madrid in the primetime series Sherlock Jr., she is also the only Kapuso star nominated this year at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards as Favorite Pinoy Newbie.
Gabbi recently flew to Japan for a Maybelline campaign and met with supermodel Gigi Hadid. And earlier this month, it was finally announced that Gabbi is the newest Filipina ambassador for the brand.
With her pretty face, people say she can get away with anything but the 19-year-old actress claims otherwise. She dreams to have it all, and she wakes up to work hard for it and achieve it one by one.
“I can still remember my promise to myself when I turned eighteen. This is just the beginning for me, and right now I’m enjoying the thrill of challenging myself into different things,” she says.
Gabbi has been juggling different schedules — from studying in Meridian International College as a Music Business Management major, to several shoots here and abroad. Now, she can’t wait to share all the things that she has lined up for this year. She knows she’s in control, and she wants to inspire young girls to aspire for the same.
“I have a lot of goals that I plan to put in reality. I want to concentrate more on my music, and I also want to do films this year. They say to take it easy, and I know I need to chill but I’m really feeling this pull to strive harder,” the Kapuso star asserts.
For millennials, it is believed that they feel the most pressure to leave a mark and find their rightful place in the world. So how does she handle the work?
“I find the right balance with my family. They are really the ones that keep me grounded, and I have my sister to keep me in check,” she states.
Gabbi recently flew to Thailand for another photo shoot, and she also took this opportunity to pause and unwind.
“I had the opportunity to experience the majesty of Okura Prestige, one of the best skyscrapers in the world. It has the protruding infinity pool, and I loved it,” she shares adding that she also plans to return to Hawaii for a quick beach getaway with her family after her participation in a music festival this month.
