Hefty reward for pork scam informer

THE Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission on Tuesday offered a hefty sum to whoever could give details for the conviction of persons involved in the multi-billion pork barrel scam allegedly masterminded by Janet Lim-Napoles.

The PACC said  at least  25 percent of the total ill-gotten wealth would go to the whistleblower if the money would be recovered.

“Big reward awaits everyone who would become whistleblowers and who would give us information that will lead to a successful recovery of ill-gotten wealth,” PACC commissioner Greco Belgica said.

However, the PACC commissioner expressed doubts that Napoles was the “mastermind” of the multibillion-peso pork barrel scam, and merely a “willing beneficial” (sic) of the scam.

The PACC believes that Napoles is not the brains behind the P10-billion pork barrel scam.

On the other hand, Malacañang said it was the personal opinion of the PACC and not the government’s.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Malacañang would wait for the assessment of the Department of Justice on Napoles’ application for the full coverage of the witness protection program.

“…Janet is a willing beneficiary of corruption, but not the mastermind,” according to  Belgica.

In a press conference at the Manila Yacht Club,   Belgica said the multi-billion peso could not be done alone by Napoles, hinting that some politicians might be involved.

“Pork barrel, PDAF, and DAP are all masterminded by politicians,” Belgica added.

He was referering to the Priority Development Assistance Fund and the Disbursement Acceleration Program.
