When designer Patricia Baligod was already having a hard time meeting with her growing list of clients in separate locations in the metro, she realized it was about time to open her showroom.
“When #CustomSyne started picking up, I felt that everything was all over the place,” shared Baligod. #CustomSyne is where she offers custom-made gowns and outfits, in addition to her Syne Label ready-to-wear pieces.
She further related, “In a day, I’ll meet clients in Alabang, then go to Pasig, then Quezon City, then back to Alabang, all for fittings/consultations. As much as I want to meet all my clients, it was not very practical, especially because I usually had eight to 10 fittings a day. The travel time made it even harder to meet my clients’ schedules.”
In her first year, Baligod established her pop-up stores in Retail Lab, and most recently in Lanai Manila. Yet these locations aren’t enough for her to meet her clients. This is why she built her very own showroom in a popular destination for Manila fashionphiles: Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.
Her showroom is a reflection of her personal taste and how she envisions Syne, as if the space is a human version of the brand’s lifestyle.
“I styled it to be clean, white, spacious, and elegant—a space where clients will be very comfortable during consultations and fittings. It should feel like a home,” said Baligod.
As she began designing silk ready-to-wear clothing, the social media generation associated her as their trusted and approachable silk designer. With the help of It Girls Jessica Wilson, Ava Daza, and Tricia Centenera who wore early Syne designs, she gained followers who turned into her most loyal consumers for her custom silk gowns.
With the opening of her showroom, Baligod plans to create more custom gowns and outfits for women looking for silk wear. In fact, she has recently launched the #SynedWithSilk campaign to feature her clients in bespoke silk wear.
“Moving forward,” she said, “#CustomSyne plans to produce more bridal and bridal entourage ensembles this year. We want to be the first in making an all silk bridal parade.”
