The remains of Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) Joanna Daniela Demafelis have arrived at the Iloilo International Airport.

The plane carrying her body arrived at about 6 am today.

Demafelis' remains will be transported to her hometown in Sara tomorrow morning.

Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Head Hans Cacdac went with the siblings of Demafelis to Iloilo.

He says, OWWA's Board of Trustee is extending financial aid to the family of the OFW.

The agency is also shouldering the burial expenses as well as the cost of transportation for Demafelis' family members who went to Kuwait to fetch her remains.

Over 200 friends and relatives of Demafelis were at the airport on Saturday morning.

They were holding balloons and were wearing t-shirts that called for justice for the death of the OFW.

Demafelis' uncle Pablo says, her wake may last for two weeks.

He also notes, President Rodrigo Duterte may visit the wake.

The OFW's body was found in a freezer in an abandoned apartment in Kuwait.

Her remains bore torture signs and indications that she may have been strangled to death.

Her demise prompted the President to ban new deployments of OFWs to the gulf state.
