QUEZON, Nueva Vizcaya—The forest program of FCF Minerals Corp. in barangay Runruno here won a national award during the recent Annual National Mine Safety and Environment Conference in Baguio City.
FCFMC grabbed Third Place in the 2017 Best Mining Forest Award–Metallic Category for its implementation of its “Adopt a Tree, Adopt a Mining Forest Program” at Camp John Hay Trade and Cultural Center in Baguio.
The award, organizers of the ANMSEC said, recognizes responsible mining companies who initiated successful efforts in achieving environmentally- and socially-responsible surface mining and mineral processing operations.
The Best Mining Forest Contest is being implemented through the Mining Forest Program of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Department Administrative Order No. 22 of 1989, providing guidelines for the implementation of the “Adopt a Tree, Adopt a Mining Forest Program”.
The program encompasses the application, processing, accreditation, maintenance and benefits which includes the qualification as participant for the Best Mining Forest Program.
FCFMC officials said their participation to the annual ANMSEC signifies and portrays its full support in promotion and commitment to responsible mining beyond compliances and mandates of law.
