THE National Bureau of Investigation has filed complaints against three employees of the Department of Justice who have been sacked for alleged anomalous processing of visas at the Bureau of Immigration, an official from the agency confirmed.

In a text message sent to reporters, Justice Undersecretary Erickson Balmes said employees Cyruz Morata, Abvic Ryan Maghirang and Shigred Erigbuagas are facing a case of violation of Article 171 of the Revised Penal Code.

“I have been told that the NBI has filed a case before the DoJ for the terminated DoJ employees for falsification,” he said.

This week, DoJ chief Vitaliano Aguirre II released an order firing the three employees after they allegedly confessed to their participation in the illegal processing of visas at the BI.

The agency said that Morata was a job order employee while Maghirang was an executive assistant and Erigbuagas was an administrative aide.

All three have also been placed under the immigration lookout order.

The side gig started in September, the DOJ said.

The DoJ said that the three employees had admitted their involvement in the processing of six quota visas for six Chinese national in exchange for large sums of money.
