ALDIN Ayo’s alleged transfer to the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers remains hanging in the balance.

With his four-month contract with the La Salle Green Archers about to expire in the next two days, school officials are expecting Ayo to re-sign a new agreement with the school.

Ayo entered into a lot of verbal agreements to rejoin the Green Archers before the end of season 80 of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines men’s basketball tournament.

But the 40-year-old Ayo’s promise to return hit a snag as the new backers of the Growling Tigers began entering into negotiations to get him into joining the team’s coaching staff for season 81.

Ayo, who is on vacation in Sorsogon, is reportedly going into talks with La Salle school officials and top patron Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco Jr. by the second week of January.

The talks will thresh out whether he returns to the Green Archers or he leaves for the Growling Tigers.

Ayo, since the end of the season 80 UAAP, has not confirmed any moves to leave the La Salle Green Archers’ camp.

He said that he has not been in a team for more than two seasons after previously steering the Letran Knights and Green Archers to a title each.

On his first year as a collegiate coach, Ayo steered the Letran Knights to a crown in the NCAA.

In his first year for the Green Archers in 2016, La Salle won a  UAAP championship, but was beaten this year by Ateneo.
