Davao City and Santiago City in Isabela on Tuesday were hailed as National Hall of Famers for ensuring child-friendly governance, along with three other local government units who were accorded the Presidential Award for Child-Friendly Municipalities and Cities in the Philippines.
Davao City was recognized as the top child-friendly LGU in the Highly Urbanized City category, while Santiago City was recognized in the Independent Component Cities (ICC) category.
Also recognized is Tagaytay City, Cavite for the component cities category; Salay, Misamis Oriental for the 4th to 6th Class Municipalities category; while Carmona, Cavite for the 1st to 3rd Class Municipalities category.
The PACFMC is one of the strategies of CWC to fulfill the government’s commitment to the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
