Herrera laid to rest on Nov. 26 at Heritage

MANILA Standard senior reporter Christine Herrera, who passed away Nov. 19 at age 49, will be laid to rest Sunday, Nov. 26, at Heritage Park Fort Bonifacio, immediately after a 9 a.m. Mass at the park’s Chapel 1 Left Wing.

Daily masses will be held for Herrera at the chapel at 6 p.m. The necrological service will be held Saturday night, Nov. 25, at 9 p.m.

Herrera, a feisty reporter who covered Congress for the Standard, died on Sunday morning of cardiac arrest while on vacation in Bangkok, Thailand. 

Fondly called “Mamu” by her friends in the media, Christine is survived by her husband Lito Herrera, daughters Nikki and Abby, son-in-law JB, and grandson Malcolm Mason.

Born on January 2, 1968 in Romblon, Christine joined the Standard during the stewardship of then editor-in-chief Jullie Yap-Daza, after her stint in the Philippine Daily Inquirer

Christine graduated college from the University of the Philippines, where she was a student activist with the League of Filipino Students before embarking on her journalistic career.
