Hyundai’s sales jump 33%

Hyundai Asia Resources Inc., the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines, said vehicle sales in October increased 33 percent to 3,266 units from 2,462 units a year ago.

The October sales brought total sales in January to October to 30,717 units, or 12 percent higher than the previous year’s sales of 27,483 units.

“As the season of giving approaches, Hyundai is thrilled to offer our consumers exciting new offerings and value for money deals. We are committed to put our efforts in full swing through modern premium products and customer service,” said Hari president and chief executive Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo

Sales of passenger cars grew 22 percent to 2,113 units from 1,726 units in October 2016.  The good performance of Accent, the top-selling model of the segment, contributed heavily to the growth.

Accent posted an impressive growth of 88 percent in October, almost doubling sales to 1,424 units.

Sales of light commercial vehicles grew 57 percent  to 1,153 units from 736 units in October last year.
