Actress and former beauty queen Maria Isabel Lopez has asked for understanding from the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
This is in connection with her use of the exclusive lane along EDSA for the Association of Southeast Asian Nation (ASEAN) delegates on the evening of November 11, 2017.
Lopez went to the LTO today in response to the summons.
The agency earlier asked her why her non-professional driver's license should not be suspended or revoked following her action.
Lopez admitted to having made the move.
She is asking the LTO not to penalize her, saying that the incident was the only instance she violated traffic rules.
She also asked LTO if it could consider her being a senior citizen.
The agency told Lopez to submit a formal position paper.
Five days after the document is filed, LTO will make a decision on Lopez's case.
The complaint against Lopez was made by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
