Gun show turns 25, opens Nov. 16; PNP chief main guest

All roads lead to the SM Megamall in Mantdaluyong City on Nov. 16 to 20 as the 25th Defense & Sporting Arms Show Part 2 opens its door to gun enthusiasts with more exciting array of modern weaponry, activities, interesting seminars and even raffle prizes await lucky visitors.

World shooting champion Jethro T. Dionisio, president of the Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers of the Philippines Inc. , says a wide selection of firearms, ammunition and shooting paraphernalia will be showcased in the country’s longest running gun exhibit which opens to the public at 10 a.m. on Nov. 16.

Director General Ronald dela Rosa, chief of the Philippine National Police , was invited as guest of honor and speaker during the ribbon cutting ceremonies at 11a.m. on Nov. 17, the second day of the DSAS.

In partnership with the PNP, the DSAS will again spearhead the Firearms Caravan which will process applications for License to Own and Possess Firearms, Permit to Carry Firearms Outside of Residence and Provisional LTOPF.

The Firearms Caravan will also have an onsite printing of LTOPF and Firearms Registration ID cards during the gun show. 

Applicants are advised to check the requirements in the Defense & Sporting Arms Show Facebook page before availing the services of the Firearms Caravan.

On Nov. 19, some members of the Philippine delegation who raked medals during the 2017 IPSC Handgun World Shoot XVIII held in France last Aug. 28 to Sept. 3 will also hold a meet and greet session for DSAS visitors.

In celebrating the 25th anniversary of the DSAS, AFAD will raffle exciting prizes for lucky visitors during the five-day gun show event. 

Gun show visitors are advised to pre-register at www.afad.ph/dsas to shorten the queuing at the entrance of the Megatrade Hall, Building B of SM Megamall.
