Cebu Pacific plane diverted to Mactan Cebu airport

A flight of Cebu Pacific bound for General Santos City was diverted to Mactan Cebu International Airport in Lapu Lapu City on Saturday morning.

Cebu Pacific flight 5J993 made a stop at Mactan Cebu airport at 8:40 am.

The pilot diverted the plane from Manila due to some technical concerns. 

The landing gear of the aircraft was checked for 10 minutes, then the plane took off again for General Santos City at 9:24 am.

As a result, the arrival of the plane in General Santos City was delayed for an hour.

Its return flight to Manila (5J994) was also affected.

Cebu Pacific says the flight diversion was not an emergency landing but a precautionary measure.
