CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna—The Police Regional Office Calabarzon will marshal 7,567 policemen from its five Police Provincial Offices and the Regional Public Safety Battalion for the coming “Undas” or All Saints’ Day holidays from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2.

The policemen will cover areas of convergence, transportation hubs, and route security, PRO Calabarzon said.

A total of 829 Assistance Hubs (formerly called Police Assistance Desks or PADs) will be established in cemeteries (450), commercial areas (53), parks and community centers (37), major tourist destinations (60), bus terminals (37), train stations (1) and seaports (14) across the region.

Regional Police Director Chief Supt. Ma. O Aplasca directed all policemen in the region to intensify security operations and public safety plans to ensure a secured, safe and orderly observance of All Saints and All Souls Day.

Aplasca underscored the need to extend protection and assistance to motorists and commuters who will be travelling to the provinces for the holidays via the Aguinaldo Highway in Cavite, South Luzon Expressway in Laguna, Southern Tagalog Access Road in Batangas, and other national highways in Rizal and Quezon provinces.

With the help of LGUs and NGOs, there will be a monitoring group at the radio communication centers at the different area in Calabarzon for emergency assistance.

“We will re-activate and implement our public safety services to aid the public during this season to address the upsurge of commuters, motorists and travelers to prevent congestions, accidents, and other street crimes especially along routes leading to terminals, churches and cemeteries, major thoroughfares and other places of convergence,” said Aplasca.

“We will also intensify our police visibility to avoid opportunity for criminals to conduct robberies and increase their illegal activities,” he added.

Along with these operational activities, Aplasca reminds the public on the safety tips who will be travelling during these days to avoid wearing jewelries and bringing of large amounts of money and refrain from using expensive gadgets while in the streets or public transformations.

Similarly, he also gave tips while leaving their houses to inform and coordinate with trusted neighbors or the subdivision security guards and for those who are travelling with their own vehicles to ensure the safety of the vehicle and always check on “BLOWBAGETS” (Brake, Lights, Oil, Water, Battery, Air, Gas, Engine, Tire and Self).

“While our men are deployed in every road to provide security and protection, we appeal to the community to support and cooperate with the security protocols of the police,” Aplasca further added.

Likewise, the public is encouraged to be vigilant and to report to authorities any suspicious persons, activities, and unusual occurrences in public or any untoward incidents and crime situations. They may also report through the PNP CALABARZON Hotlines (PIO) 09194092763/ (049) 544-4284;
