Graftbusters intensify practice sessions

DESPITE absorbing a loss from the DA Food Masters last Sunday, Ombudsman head coach Richard Alcantara believes his side still has a shot in the UNTV Cup, the league of public servants.

“Maganda ang potential ng team, even though karamihan puro attorney. Pero nakikita ko ang potential namin as a team, especially sa depensa,” coach Alcantara said.

Defenders of the Ombudsman Graft Busters gang up on Judiciary’s Frederick Salamat during their UNTV Cup game at the Pasig City Sports Center.

The Ombudsman coach said the team is taking advantage of a two-week break by doubling their efforts during practice sessions, before taking on NHA Builders this coming Sunday.

“First ang consistency namin, depensa, then sa opensa namin. Medyo talagang magulo kami, kailangan lahat in one place kami,” said Alcantara.

Attendance of players in practices is another challenge the Graftbusters are facing.

“Talagang wala pa kaming masabi na one complete practice na lahat naroon, na lahat naiintindihan ang nangyayari, siguro iyon ang dapat ayusin,” he said.

The Ombudsman Graftbusters are at the bottom of Group B, still searching for their first win to snap a two-game losing skid.
