LINGAYEN, Pangasinan—Gov. Amado I. Espino III has asked all chiefs of offices and chiefs of hospitals for the use of the updated seal of the province of Pangasinan as officially recommended by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines.

“All chiefs/heads of office/hospital and all employees are hereby enjoined to adopt/use the new seal of the province recommended by the NHCP in all their letterheads, calling cards and other official usages deemed appropriate/necessary effective immediately,” Espino stated in the memorandum he issued on Sept. 29.

Last April 24, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved Provincial Resolution No. 309-2017 entitled “Approving the Modified Design and Symbolism of the Proposed Seal of the Province as Recommended by the NHCP.”

The resolution ratified the use of NHCP—reviewed official seal and official flag of the province of Pangasinan.

Resolution author, Board Member Jeremy Agerico Rosario, said the SP interposes no objection to the NHCP’s modified design and symbolism of the proposed seal of the province, which is in pursuance to the basic heraldic rules as provided in Republic Act 8491, otherwise known as the Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines and Memorandum Circular No. 92-30 issued by the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
