The PLDT Group’s efforts to improve the lives of overseas Filipino workers have earned the notice of the prestigious Asia CEO Awards.
The group’s OFW program, implemented by PLDT subsidiary PLDT Global, is shortlisted under the Heart for OFWs category of the largest business awards event in the Philippines. Winners of the Asia CEO Awards will be announced on October 17 at Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay.
PLDT Global implements professional development and livelihood programs which help prepare OFWs for the possibility of going back to the Philippines to find employment or start a business here.
It also has several information programs for OFWs. These include an anti-illegal recruitment campaign, as well as a publication for the Filipino community in Hong Kong, which features content about legal matters, country policies and updates and wellness.
