ABS-CBN’s flagship AM radio station continues to lead the field in serving Filipinos through both news and public service. DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 recently intensified its public service efforts by bringing its pioneering public service programs Buntis Congress and DZMM TLC outside Luzon last month.

Based on the KBP-Kantar Media Radio Survey in Metro Manila for the second quarter of 2017, DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 topped all AM radio stations with an audience share of 42 percent.

True to the message of its current station ID entitled “Una Ka Pilipino,” the station delivered public service to Filipinos once again through Buntis Congress and DZMM Teaching Learning Caring classroom-on-wheels and clinic-on-wheels activity held in Cebu.

Now on its 15th year, DZMM’s seminar for mothers and pregnant women brought new information, helpful tips, and freebies to almost 300 mommies who gathered at Robinson’s Mall in Cebu on Aug. 25. One of the topics was teenage pregnancy, which was very relevant as some of the participants were teenage mothers, including a 14-year-old.

Through Buntis Congress, these young moms learned how to keep themselves and their kids healthy during and after pregnancy. It was also a time to relax for the mothers as Kapamilya singer Michael Pangilinan was present to serenade and bond with them.

DZMM TLC, on the other hand, served three barangays in Cebu that have never been visited and served by a non-government organization before. Residents of Brgy.Kinawahan, Brgy. Victoria, and Brgy. Tacup benefited from the medical consultations, minor surgeries, dental and optical check-ups, blood-typing, CBC, urinalysis, and blood sugar test, and HIV screening and counseling that DZMM and its partner organizations have offered to them for free on Aug. 26.

While over 1,300 people availed of the free medical services, children from the barangays also enjoyed a storytelling session with DZMM’s Dra. Bles Salvador and an arts and crafts activity. Almost 200 elementary students also got snacks and toiletry packs.

With a strengthened programming, DZMM also remains untouchable when it comes to delivering news with almost half of the listening audience preferring it over other AM radio stations. Its audience share of 42 percent in the survey conducted in June in Metro Manila is two times higher than second placer DZBB’s 21percent, followed by DWWW (1percent), DZRH (6 percent), and DZRV (5 percent).

DZMM is the pioneer in the simultaneous broadcast of radio on TV with DZMM TeleRadyo celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. It is also the first in producing station IDs as a way to celebrate milestones and communicate its commitment to its listeners and viewers, and has also been awarded by prestigious award-giving bodies such as the Philippine Quill and Anvil Awards for its unique concepts in public service.
