THE defending champion Ateneo Blue Eagles are finding kinks in their armor that they need to fix.

And coach Sandy Arespacochaga said they will work on this when the Blue Eagles fight the National University Bulldogs at 4 p.m. today at the Araneta Coliseum.

“That’s something we need to improve on,” said Arespacochaga as the Blue Eagles go for their sixth straight victory in the 80th University Athletic Association of the Philippines men’s basketball tournament.

When the Blue Eagles won over the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers, 94-84, last Wednesday, Arespochaga noted that they were able to move the ball around a lot with their 22 assists.

“This is good, but they can’t have 20 turnovers that they have against UST, and they can’t let this happen when they face the Bulldogs,” he said.

The Bulldogs are known as a pressing team and Arespacochaga believes they will be forced into many turnovers.

They have a 2-3 record and are at the end of a punishing three-game schedule over the last seven days.

NU coach Jamike Jarin said the players were tired in their two previous games and are seeking to bounce back.

Earlier, the La Salle Green Archers will try to bounce back from an 87-98 loss to the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons when they meet the Growling Tigers at 2 p.m.
