DEFENDING champion China Kashgar took down Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas, 86-70, to move to the semifinals of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup Thursday evening at the City Arena in Chenczhou, China.
The Chinese played a consistent game that allowed Kashgar punish Chooks-to-Go until Team Pilipinas finally struggled in the fourth period.
Kashgar went on to arrange a Final Four clash with Kazakhstan’s BC Astana.
Darius Adams led the way for China, scoring 23 points on top of nine rebounds and four assists.
Gilas Pilipinas player AndrayBlatche, who plays for Kashgar when not playing for Team Pilipinas, did not suit up for the team out of respect to the Filipinos.
Team Pilipinas scored only 31 points in the final 20 minutes, 13 in the fourth.
Import Isaiah Austin led the way for Team Pilipinas with 16 points and 11 rebounds, along with Kiefer Ravena, who also made 16.
Chooks-to-Go has been relegated to the classification round.
They will fight Shabab Al Ahli-Dubai in their next game.
