The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is reviewing its penalties against school officials tagged in hazing.

CHED Chairperson Patricia Licuanan said they are looking into CHED's old memorandum circular which suspends for only 60 days school officials involved in hazing activities of fraternities in universities and colleges.

Licuanan made this remark during the budget hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance.

She also said CHED is awaiting the result of an investigation into the death of University of Sto Tomas (UST) law student Horacio Castillo III.

Licuanan was grilled on the subject of hazing by Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri.
