BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya—Provincial, municipal and barangay officials here yesterday formally opened a bridge worth P2 million in Barangay Duliao that will bring farmers closer and faster to the market.
Governor Carlos Padilla said the provincial government allotted the fund for the completion of the Duliao bridge after it was destroyed by previous typhoons.
Padilla also vowed 1,000 bags of cement for the development of the nearby access road to augment the infrastructure support of the Bambang local government by improving the bridge’s approach.
“This will serve as an alternative road for farmers in transporting their produce to the market, thereby reducing their transport costs,” Padilla said.
He said the bridge that will connect farmers of barangays Duliao, San Antonio North, and San Antonio South to the town market is expected to boost the farmers’ income.
Padilla added that a P30-million Small Water Impounding Project of the Department of Agriculture will also help farmers in improving their produce at 6,000 cavans per cropping.
