President Rodrigo Duterte goes to Pampanga on Monday.
He made the visit amid the bird flu outbreak in San Luis, Pampanga.
The President made a speech in San Fernando.
At noon, he is set to lead a boodle fight where he will eat chicken.
Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Manny Pinol had invited the Chief Executive to lead the event to supposedly allay fears that consumers would avoid poultry products as a result of the bird flu scare.
During his speech, Duterte, however, said he does not believe Filipinos will stay away from chickens.
He added poultry farm owners have nothing to worry about as they will not lose their means of livelihood.
"I have no doubt in the resiliency of Pampaguenos," he remarked.
The President also talked about the importance of food security in nation-building.
During his light-hearted speech, he was constantly coughing.
He joked that somebody outside the hall must be backbiting him, drawing laughter from the audience.
Duterte is also handing out checks to poultry farm owners in payment for all the fowls slaughtered by DA teams in San Luis, following the declaration of bird flu outbreak.
