Not anytime soon. But if the situation calls for it, or if he’s given a role that requires him to sport a shorter do, he would cut his hair pronto.
Every guy with long locks has specific reasons why they avoid the barber shop. Maybe it’s a statement, or a story, maybe it’s about his character and who he is. Maybe he just doesn’t like getting his hair cut.
For My Love From the Star actor Gil Cuerva, keeping his hair long is more than just a statement, its keeping his identity that separates him from all the rest.
“I feel like it gives me an identity. It makes me unique, it makes me who I am. I’ve always wanted to have long hair, even when I was a kid, but I couldn’t do it because of school,” the newbie actor revealed during a recent interview.
He further stated that back when he was in grade school and high school at Ateneo de Manila University, he already wanted to grow his hair but because of the hair cut rule, he had to keep his locks short and neat.
“I think the haircut rule suppresses your freedom to actually express yourself, in terms of hair. I really don’t get that rule that we really needed to have a short hair,” he said.
Gil is currently undergoing acting workshop in preparation for his next TV projects.
