THE Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers sustained a great start until the end as they pummeled the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals, 77-48, yesterday at the Arena in San Juan.
Veteran cager Ervin Grospe, who led with 19 points, struck hard in the early goings as the Bombers went on to easily post their third win in six games in the 93rd NCAA men’s basketball tournament.
“If this is the way we play, then we are slowly showing our potential,” said JRU coach Vergel Meneses.
Earlier, Prince Eze came up with a double-double of 23 points and 21 rebounds, to go with five blocks to carry the University of Perpetual Help Altas to a 68-59 subduing of Arellano University, 68-59.
This allowed the Las Pinas-based squad to bounce back from two straight losses and pick up their third victory against three losses, moving to a share of third with the Bombers.
