A supply chain/ logistics firm and an e-commerce shipping company have  partnered  with the country’s largest bus company to boost cargo business in the Philippines, especially in Visayas and Mindanao.

In a signing ceremony on July 21, 2017, Quick Reliable (formerly known as QRS) and Xend Business Solutions sealed a partnership agreement with Ceres, a group of bus companies operating major routes in Visayas and Mindanao.

Emer Ilagan, Quick Reliable president, is happy to see the realization of the partnership, saying this will be a game changer in the country’s cargo delivery business.

“In an archipelagic country such as the Philippines, the battle in logistics has always been anchored on the efficient movement of goods outside Luzon and across our southern islands.  Through Ceres and its proven knowledge of the Southern Philippines geography, plus the technological innovations of Xend, we are excited to hasten and improve cargo delivery in Visayas and Mindanao areas,” said  Ilagan.

“As a Visayan company, we hope that our partnership with Quick and Xend will help bring development to and create healthier businesses in the country side.  With our vast fleet, transportation experience, and strategic locations, we look forward to maximizing the potentials and address capacity requirements for cargo delivery in Southern Philippines,” said Leorey V. Yanson, president and CEO, Ceres.

Ceres has been operating in Southern Philippines for 48 years now.  In the 1970s, it first plied the Bacolod City-Valladolid-La Carlota route in Negros Occidental.  Today, it has bus hubs in Batangas City and all major cities of Visayas and Mindanao.

“Through this partnership, we are confident that we can bring down cost and improve services for our customers nationwide.  I’m very pleased that this partnership has been made with common purpose in mind—to bring development not only in Metro Manila but also in Visayas and Mindanao,” added Ilagan.

Two-year old Quick Reliable has redefined logistics and shaken the way businesses manage their supply chain through its innovative services, including cargo bus service for nationwide deliveries.

The service involves the loading of commercial and less-than-container-load cargoes in the bellies of passenger buses, or at times, in reconfigured buses without passenger seats, which are then driven onto roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) vessels.  This service is welcomed by small entrepreneurs with lower budgets and whose cargo requirements are below the usual container sizes.

Quick Reliable has the most comprehensive delivery network in the Philippines and offers the most affordable delivery rate.  It currently partners with Germalin Forwarding, Philtranco, Jam Liner, Archipelago Philippine Ferries, which operates Fastcat ferries, and hundreds of independent courier services nationwide.

As Quick Reliable and Xend partner with Ceres, the potentials for improved bus cargo delivery in the Visayas and Mindanao are expected to be maximized resulting into improved services for Filipino individuals and businesses nationwide.
