PH road cycling team eyes 2 SEAG golds

THE national road cycling squad is expected to win at least two medals in the coming Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur.

Philcycling Deputy Secretary General Kamilla Sumagui, in a radio interview, said  the riders and coaches have been working hard to make his happen.

The squad is composed  of Mark Galedo, Ronald Oranza, George Oconer, Rene Mier, Rustom Lim, Dominic Perez, Marcelo Felipe, Jerry Aquino Jr, Ryan Cayubit and Marella Salamat.

They are set to  leave for Kuala Lumpur  on August 17 in time for the August 22 to 25  schedule.

“We are excited this time, especially that we are a bit more organized and prepared than before,” said Sumagui.

Track cyclists Kristian Reyes and Mervin Corpuz, who currently trainins at the UCI World Satellite Training Center in South Korea, will be there by August 24.

She said Pro Team of 7Eleven, that’s managed by  Engineer Bong Sual and Jeremy Go’s Go for Gold plus Corratec Pilipinas, has been involved in the preparations.
