Grab Philippines has paid the fine of P 5-million set by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

The firm says, its legal counsel John Paul Nabua has performed this task on Thursday.

The fine was previously imposed by the LTFRB after determining that Grab had supposedly violated several provisions in its franchise agreement.

At the same time, the company, classified under transport network vehicle services (TNVS), has also filed a motion for reconsideration (MR) over the grounding of 24,000 GrabCars that have no government franchise.

The LTFRB earlier warned that starting July 22, 2017, drivers of Uber and Grab will be apprehended if they will work without provisional authorities (PAs) and the if the operators will not file appeals before Wednesday next week.

The board is expected to hold hearings on the matter in the coming days.

Uber paid the fine two days ago.
