Sharing your extras at SM Store

The SM Store’s recent “Share Your Extras” campaign brought smiles to thousands of family members all over the Philippines as they received slippers and clothes from SM shoppers.

A joint project of The SM Store and SM Foundation, Share Your Extras encouraged customers to clean their closets, and share their pre-loved clothes and slippers with the less fortunate.  Booths, where they could also buy new slippers, were set up in all SM Store branches nationwide for this purpose.

Each donation entitled a customer to a P50 coupon which can be redeemed for every minimum P500 single receipt purchase of regular- priced items from the Children’s Shoes Department of The SM Store.

Children under the catechetical program of San Bartolome de Novaliches Parish were some of the beneficiaries of The SM Store and SM Foundation’s Share Your Extras project. Also present during the turnover were SM Representatives headed by The SM Store Fairview Branch Marketing manager Marrie Garcia and Customer Service manager Eds Castillo.

Customers were very generous with their donations, and Share Your Extras was able to gather a total of 28,687 pieces of clothes and slippers from all The SM Store branches nationwide.

These were in turn brought much joy to recipients when distributed to various Social Action Centers in the Metro area and in the provinces. Among these were the San Bartolome de Novaliches Association, the Lipa Archdiocesan Social Action Commission (LASAC), Jaro Archdiocesan Social Action Center (JASAC), Social Action Center of Pampanga (SACOP) and Social Action Center of Bacolod.

Share Your Extras is one of the ways The SM Store reaches out to the communities. Other store-based projects include Donate-A-Book, Gamot Para sa Kapwa and Share-A-Toy.
