The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is expecting that by tomorrow (Friday), operations of the Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) will return to normal.
Long lines of passengers form at the MRT stations since only 17 trains are running.
Problem in the axle of one of the train coaches was discovered on Wednesday, prompting the MRT management to implement repairs.
DOTr Undersecretary Cesar Chavez says, the original target completion date for the repairs is supposedly on Sunday following a four-day repair, but it has been moved to Friday.
Chavez explains, it is better for commuters to experience inconvenience rather than for them to meet an accident, be sent to hospitals or end up in the cemetery.
