GMA Network claims leadership in May

According to GMA Network, it was the most watched TV network in the country in May. That is based on data from ratings service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.

From May 1 to 31 (with May 21 to 31 based on overnight data), the Kapuso Network posted a solid ratings performance in National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) leading across all time blocks and reaching an average total day people audience share of 42.5 percent; beating ABS-CBN’s 36.7percent.

GMA also sustained its dominance in Urban Luzon, which accounts for 77 percent of the total urban TV household population in the country, posting 49.8 percent versus ABS-CBN’s 30.5 percent.

Kapuso programs, likewise ruled the list of top-rating programs in NUTAM with seven out of the top 10 shows coming from GMA.

The recently concluded hit telefantasya Encantadia once more clinched the top spot. Joining the list are new primetime launches Mulawin vs. Ravena and My Love from the Star, as well as consistent top-raters Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, Destined to be Yours, Magpakailanman, and 24 Oras.
