LINGAYEN, Pangasinan—Teams from Alaminos City, Bugallon and Urbiztondo remained unbeaten in the elimination rounds of the 1st Pangasinan Inter-LGU Unity Games Basketball Tournament, another sports project of Gov. Amado “Pogi” I. Espino III.
Alaminos scored its sixth straight win after its opponent, Binmaley, lost by default on May 26 at the Manaog gymnasium. Alaminos now leads Division 1 of the Western Conference ahead of Team Bugallon with a 5-0 (win-loss) standing.
Team Urbiztondo, on the other hand, emerged unbeaten in Division II at 6-0.
For Division 1 of the Eastern Conference, Pozorrubio shared the same 4-1 standing with Bayambang and Urdaneta City. The latter two teams won over San Fabian and Mangaldan, respectively, last May 25.
The basketball tournament between LGUs opened last March 16 by Governor Espino, who expressed optimism the sports event will not only promote a healthy lifestyle among the officials and employees but will also foster camaraderie and warm rapport among them.
