IT’S all systems go for the staging of the Philippine Sports Commission’s community program KID-S.O.S (Kabataan Iwas Droga-Start on Sports) in Bacoor, Cavite starting next month.

PSC Commissioner and project director Arnold Agustin thanked Bacoor Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla in this weekend-only sport activity that aims to help the youth of Bacoor City.

“This program is in line with President Duterte’s Sports for All Program. We chose Bacoor City to start this program, but we have closely coordinated with other Local Government Units in Cavite for future sports partnerships,” said Agustin, a long-time resident of the city.

“The PSC believes that sports is a vital tool in leading our youth away from vices. It is our thrust to conduct various programs that will engage the Filipino youth in sports activities,” Agustin added.

Included in the program are badminton, table tennis and chess for Sangguniang Kabataan, while zumba ang pencat silat clinics and seminars are for barangay officials, as well as adults to keep them healthy and vibrant.

Under the partnership, the PSC is in charge of the technical personnel, coaches and administrative staff as well as sports supply and equipment, while the city administrator is tasked to coordinate with the participants and designated venues.

Agustin said he was invited by Mayor Mercado-Revilla to join the flag-raising program on Monday at the newly-built Bacoor City Hall to formalize the partnership.
