Three BIFF members killed in North Cotabato

A firefight in a remote barangay in Pikit, North Cotabato resulted in the death of three bandits belonging to the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF).

Police in Pikit town report, the slain BIFF members first tried to steal cattle from farmers in Barangay Bualan on Friday.

The farmers, aided by operatives from the Citizen’s Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU), ran after the thieves.

A clash ensued in a remote area, lasting for half an hour.

The fatalities reportedly belonged to the group of a certain Commander Arpie, who had been extracting ‘protection money’ from villagers.
