LMP to hold meet March 13

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Roa Duterte will be the guest of honor and keynote speaker for the League of Municipalities of the Philippines annual general assembly to be held on March 13-15, 2017 at the Manila Hotel.  

The assembly, which is the biggest annual gathering of the over 1,400 municipal mayors in the country, will have for its theme “Pagkakaisa ng LMP Laban sa Droga, Korapsyon at Kriminalidad,” announced LMP national president Maria Fe V. Brondial of Socorro, Oriental Mindoro.

For this assembly, the first under the current adminsitration, the LMP will be setting up a one-stop action center (one-stop shop) for national government agencies (NGAs) to assist the mayors in their various concerns with the national government.  Several Cabinet Secretaries have also confirmed their participation in the assembly as resource speakers and guests.

The League of Municipalities of the Philippines is an organization of all the municipalities of the Philippines, mandated by law, with the primary purpose of ventilating, articulating, and crystallizing issues affecting municipal government administration and securing solutions to these issues.

The LMP, led by its national president Mayor Maria Fe Brondial of Socorro, Oriental Mindoro, Mayor Sandy Javier of Javier, Leyte as its executive vice president; and Mayor Abraham Burahan of Hadji Panglima  Tahil, Sulu as its secretary general, is calling on all of its members to attend their General Assembly.  They can get in touch with the LMP National Secretariat at tel. no. 913-5737 for more information.
