THE Los Angeles-class submarine USS Louisville arrived in Subic Bay on Monday to strengthen its “community and military connections” with the Philippines.

The United States Embassy to Manila said in a statement, the Louisville crew will participate in a series of community service projects and sporting events during their visit in the Philippine soil.

“The Los Angeles-class submarine USS Louisville [SSN 724] arrived in Subic Bay for a brief port call that highlights the strong community and military connections between the Philippines and the United States,” the embassy stated.

Aside from the said community activities, the ship will also use the stop to conduct some minor maintenance with the assistance of Filipino companies.

The US Embassy noted that the Philippines is a long-standing treaty ally of the US with a history of partnership of more than 70 years.
