2 Russian warships dock at Manila South Harbor

Two Russian navy vessels are currently docked at the Manila South Harbor.

Anti-submarine ‘Admiral Tributs’ and sea tanker ‘Boris Butoma’ are here for a goodwill visit.

The two warships will stay for 5 days.

Their activities include a maritime exercise with the Philippine Navy.

Their presence in the country is in line with President Duterte’s goal to forge stronger ties with Russia.

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay previously met with some Russian officials, in a bid to establish a stronger military and diplomatic relations with Russia.
