Fireworks burn up 5 Sta. Ana houses

Five houses burned down after fireworks went off inside one of them during the New Year’s revelry in Callejon Dos, Sta. Ana, Manila.

According to the investigation of the Bureau of Fire Protection in Manila, the fire started around midnight of Jan. 1 inside the house of Rolina Cervantes and caused about P2 million in damages.

The five old houses were made mostly of wood, and the fire spread quickly. According to barangay officials, only one person lit fireworks that day in the said area.
