SAN Beda College coach Jamike Jarin bid the Lions goodbye on Tuesday(December 13).

Jose Mari Lacson, the NCAA Management Committee chair from San Beda, said there is no official word yet from San Beda rector Fr. Aloysius Ma. Maranan, OSB although he was informed Jarin already told his team staff and players that he is leaving.

"I just learned today (yesterday) he (Jarin) already said his goodbyes to the players, but I'm still waiting for official word from Fr. Rector (Maranan)," said Lacson.

Jarin also confirmed he left San Beda without mentioning where he is going to coach next.

With Jarin gone, San Beda is now in search of his potential replacement.

Among the names being floated as a possible successor of Jarin are Boyet Fernandez, Louie Alas and Jimmy Alapag.

Fernandez steered the Mendiola-based dribblers to the 2014 NCAA title before he left to coach NLEX in the PBA where he spent two seasons.

He was replaced by Yeng Guiao, making him eligible to retake the San Beda job.

Alas, for his part, is currently one of Alaska coach Alex Compton's assistants and is also a legitimate candidate for the job with his NCAA championship experience.

Alapag, on the other hand, has just retired from the pros this year and could be on line for his first ever coaching job with the Lions.
