President Rodrigo Duterte and United States President-elect Donald Trump will be talking on the telephone Friday night.
This is the first time the two leaders are having a conversation.
Duterte will place a call to Trump at 10:30 pm PH time.
Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay says, Duterte intends to congratulate and greet Trump at the same time.
He says, it is meant to create goodwill between the Duterte and Trump.
He describes the planned telephone conversation as a “good start” for the two men.
