President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed five new officials of the Bureau of Customs.
In separate letters signed on October 17 by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, the following are designated as new Customs deputy commissioners: Natalio C. Ecarma III, Revenue Collection Monitoring Group; Ariel F. Nepomuceno, Enforcement Group; Teddy Sandy S. Raval, Intelligence Group; Edgar Z. Macabeo was named District Collector, Port of Naia; and, Vincent Philip C. Maronilla, District Collector of the Manila International Container Port.
Prior to these appointments, Macabeo was acting district collector at Naia, and Maronilla was officer-in-charge of Import Assessment Service at the Bureau’s Assessment and Operations Coordinating Group.
Nepomuceno and Raval are comebacking officials. Nepomuceno was also EG deputy commissioner under the watch of Customs commissioners John Sevilla and Alberto Lina, while Raval was former Enforcement and Security Service director during Lina’s tenure.
Ecarma, a retired army major general, was former Undersecretary for Defense Operations at the Department of National Defense.
