Caloocan taps village chairmen

CALOOCAN City Mayor Oscar Malapitan directed all 188 barangays to mobilize community-based participation through the revitalization of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council to support President Rodrigo Duterte’s all-out war against illegal drugs and criminality.

Malapitan said barangay leaders who fail to do their tasks in the BADAC will face an administrative case for dereliction of duty under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act plus a criminal case if they are found to be using or selling illegal drugs, or protecting the drug trade.

DILG Memorandum 2015-63, issued on June 2016, intensified the BADAC. It is chaired by the barangay captain, co-chaired by the kagawad heading the peace and order committee.
