Eight drug suspects were killed and 10 were arrested in separate One Time-Big Time operations of the Navotas and Caloocan police stations early Friday morning.
Based on the initial report submitted to the office of Senior Supt. Roberto Fajardo, police director, the Navotas drug buy bust operations took place in Market 3, Navotas Fishing Complex at 5:00 a.m.
The suspects upon sensing that they are transacting with policemen, drew their firearms and shot the policemen, but the operatives retaliated and killed them.
Chief of Police PSsupt. Dante Novicio identified the five as alias Junjun Jasper, alias Gerale, alias Champoy, alias Nono and alias Alvin Toyo.
Fajardo reported that the five suspects are known illegal drug traders.
The police recovered four short firearms and an undetermined numbers of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu.
Six more alleged drug suspects were arrested for violating Republic Act 9165. One alleged pusher was identified as Orlando Mangali alias Bukol, 25, of Tanza.
Alias Aldrin, 16, who was arrested in Brgy Daanghari, Navotas City, is also wanted for theft. More or less 30 persons were also invited for questioning.
A shootout also occurred between Caloocan policemen and an unidentified group of male suspects on the PNR Railway in Barangay 33 in Caloocan City.
Three suspects were killed while two others escaped.
The lawmen seized one .22-caliber Black Widow; one .38-cal Armscor with no serial number; one .38-caliber Armscor with SN 55023; 15 heat-sealed transparent sachets of suspected shabu.
Three more suspects–Julius Sigawat, 25, of Barangay 10; Francis Macalinao of Barangay 35; and Rolando Mangilit, 38, of Barangay 36—for for violation of Republic Act 9165.
Fajardo said that anti-criminality operations will not stop until all barangays in the CAMANAVA are clear of illegal drugs.
