THE Metro Manila Development Authority is considering transferring the location of a bus terminal in Paranaque City, which served as the central bus station of buses coming from the provinces of Cavite and Batangas.

This developed shortly after Senator Grace Poe made an ocular inspection of the Southwest Integrated Provincial Terminal located along the Coastal Road and noted numerous observation of the maintenance of the facility.

MMDA General Manager Thomas Orbos said the agency’s management team is currently reviewing and evaluating the status of the SWIPT’s operation.

He added that the terminal, which was established in 2013, was intended to be a mere interim station in time for the completion of the permanent terminal by the then administration of the Department of Transportation and Communications scheduled for 2015.

This, however, was delayed, and its projected completion has been moved to 2018.
