Govt agency cracks down on Pokemon

A NUMBER of Metro Manila Development Authority personnel, including key officers, have become so addicted with “Pokemon Go” that Chairman Emerson Carlos has imposed a ban on playing the mobile game at the agency.

“In this regard, all employees of this Authority are directed to refrain from playing the said game during office hours or while on duty as this hampers the operation of the office, thus affecting the productivity of the Authority,” said Carlos in a memorandum issued Aug. 8.

The MMDA chief also warned his men that “those who will be caught violating the memo shall be dealt with administrative sanctions accordingly.”

The agency earlier advised the public, particularly Pokemon Go players to prioritize safety and to be vigilant while playing the game especially on the streets.

Filipinos have joined the frenzy for the new mobile gadget application, which has become a hit since it was launched in the Philippines recently and has already been blamed for the slow work pace in some public and private offices.
