Dennis is Bela’s choice

Dennis Trillo is Bela Padilla’s personal choice as leading man in Viva Films’ latest potboiler titled Camp Sawi in which the latter’s boyfriend Neil Arce is co-producer.

“Yes! All of the female leads in the movie were asked whom they want as love interest and for me, I picked Dennis without second thoughts,” she reveals.

According to the pretty lass, she’s already comfortable with the handsome Kapuso actor.

“We’ve starred in a number of projects in the past and we’re okay. Our working relationship is smoothsailing. It’s also a requirement that my partner in the story ought to be Chinese-looking. Dennis fits the role to a T. That will be one of the main conflicts of our relationship in the story.”

Bela has only good words for Dennis.

“In our previous projects, we gained positive feedbacks. Viewers said we have good chemistry on screen. It’s a must that in your first scene together, the audience would instantly relate to the love you feel for each other and will get affected when the two of you would break-up in the story.

“Given this scenario, I opted for someone whom I have instant chemistry with and it happens to be Dennis. If for example I will go for a new leading man, definitely, there will be difficulty establishing the rapport on screen right away, right? It’s hard if you’re starting from scratch. You can’t just experiment especially if you have a timetable to follow. So, with Dennis, I feel confident and relaxed already.”

Dennis’ professionalism as an actor is what the statuesque beauty admires the most.

“He always comes on the set prepared: lines, wardrobe, etc. He arrives before the agreed time. Actually, both of us do. That way, shooting delays are avoided and that’s good. Dennis knows how to respect the time of his co-stars.”

Even her steady Neil approves of Dennis as her partner in the movie.

“He says Dennis is the perfect choice because of our built-in chemistry,” ends Bela.

In the last two years, Jennylyn Mercado has scored huge wins at the annual Metro Manila Film Festival via English Only, Please and Walang Forever, which were not only certified hits but won for her Best Actress trophies. This time though, the Ultimate Star is far from replicating said feats for a third time as she has no potboiler intended for the film fest this year.

“If I can only squeeze in time for that, I will. Who wouldn’t want, anyway? But seeing my present work schedule, I just deem it impossible. Specially that according to MMFF rulings, all entries should be finished and submitted by October, it means I should have started filming already,” she says.

Because of her recent renewal as a Kapuso, many are curious to know if GMA prohibited her from doing another possible project with Star Cinema which produced her latest film Just The 3 Of Us opposite John Lloyd Cruz.

“Oh no! There’s nothing like that. It’s basically my schedule. I have a cooking show on GMA News TV called Everyday Sarap with CDO, then, I’m slated to do a movie for GMA Films. My next prime time soap opera is also in the works. It’s not just feasible to do an MMFF movie on my part.”

Speaking of her new soap, her fans are excited if this will be the remake of the hit Koreanovela My Love from Another Star. Especially that she recently trained with the renowned Jonas Gaffud on walking and posture, many of her supporters think it’s for the said re-boot since the character of the female lead there is that of a popular movie star.

“I can’t say or divulge anything as of now. All I know is that I’m happy with the latest developments in my career. Let’s just wait and see, okay?” states Jen.
