THE National Bureau of Investigation arrested a businesswoman accused of car theft, estafa and illegal recruitment during an operation in Makati City Thursday.
In a statement released on Friday, the NBI said operatives of the NBI-Anti Fraud Division arrested Rosemarie Shinora, alias Marie Martinez, for two counts of car theft, estafa and several counts of illegal recruitment, during an operation on July 28 at Pasay Road in Makati City.
According to the complainants, Shinora said she is married to a Japanese named OE Shinohara and that she needs help because she was victimized by a money scammer. The suspect also said that she has money at a bank but she was having problems with it as it was with a different name.
