OceanaGold (Philippines) Inc. reiterated its unequivocal support for responsible mining as enunciated by President Rodrigo Duterte.
OceanaGold senior vice president for communications and external affairs Ramoncito Gozar said OceanaGold’s mining protocol coincided exactly to the letter of the pronouncements by the President in various occasions that “he would support mining as long as it upholds the stringiest environmental standards.”
Duterte stated in a business forum that “the best that I can see now is the Australian standard, just follow the Australian standard, just take care of the environment.”
Gozar said OceanaGold (Philippines) could do no less as it is bound to the business and ethical practices of its Australian root.
